ST JAMES PARADE OFF TO A FLYING START IN
MERTHYR WITH CYFARTHFA MEWS

St James Parade, South Wales’s newest residential developer, has enjoyed a fantastic start to its stylish new scheme of 47 homes in Merthyr Tydfil called Cyfarthfa Mews.

A launch event for the development drew packed crowds – and resulted in the initial release of six plots being quickly sold out. This resulted in a second phase being released on the night, leading to a total of nine homes being snapped up by eager buyers.

“It was a great launch event,” said St James Parade director Rob Slocombe, “we had an excellent turnout and tremendous response from everyone there.”

The first purchaser at the launch event was construction industry manager Neil Lewis, who has recently returned to Merthyr after working in Ireland for more than five years.

“I had been looking in the Merthyr area for some time and when I saw this opportunity, I leapt at the chance,” he said. “It’s a really great looking development.”

Cyfarthfa Mews is the first development to be undertaken by St James Parade, a Cardiff-based company which has been created by two former Redrow regional managing directors, Glyn Mabey and Rob Slocombe.

“Merthyr is very much a town in the ascendancy,” said Glyn Mabey, “The Assembly has delivered it jobs and we will see significant commercial progress in the coming years on other new sites.

“All of this is excellent news for the house building sector. Clearly, we are delighted that Merthyr Council planners have given our development the green light. It is a landmark for St James Parade.”

“Value-for-money is considerably greater in Merthyr than Cardiff, for example, and with transport links having improved enormously house buyers are recognising the merit in purchasing quality homes in the Merthyr area,” he said.

The development at Old Winch Fawr Road will provide a broad range of 47 new homes – from one-bedroom apartments to 2 bedroom coach houses and 2, 3, 4 and 5-bedroom houses.

Initial enquiries are being handled by Peter Alan in Merthyr, the developer’s nominated selling agent, who report strong interest being already registered.

For further information, interested purchasers are asked to call Peter Alan, Merthyr Tydfil (01685) 722223 or Peter Alan’s New Homes division on 0800 905 905.

St James Parade (www.stjamesparade.co.uk) has been created with the intention of building 150 homes a year over its first phase of growth, in a region stretching from Carmarthenshire to Wiltshire, on sites holding anything from a dozen to more than 100 units.

At Cyfartha Mews, St James Parade will construct its stylish new Kensington, Brennon and Oxford house types at Cyfarthfa Mews.
